A huge 8.25" Doublet Achromatic Refractor. F9, FL1800mm Franhoffer. Fully Broad band multi coated on all 4 lens surfaces, 1/6th PV. This huge Refractor was hand made in England jointly by SET-optics and Beaconhill Telescopes, its been crafted to extremly high quality using the finest material and accessories. The alloy tube is made from 1/16 gauge alloy, fully baffeled and then hard powder coated in gloss white. The rear cell is machined from solid alloy and powder coated black, the front lens cell and counter cell is also made the same way, the lens cell is collimatable. The Refractor has a solid alloy dew shield and dust cap. The Focuser is a huge 4" diameter William Optics Crayford with 11 to 1 reduction try knob.Also included is a pair of heavy duty tube rings and a Meade 50mm Finder thats quick release. I have had time now to use the Telescope on a few good nights. Jupiter was a stunning sight and even my C14 couldnt show as much detail as this big Refractor. The Moon was being there, if you have never looked through a big frac, you are missing somthing special, no other telescope design can match the definition or clarity. Being such a large unobstructed lens also makes this Refractor superb on deep-sky. You will need a big mount to hold this telescope, an eq6 will just about manage it. im selling the mount pictured soon that is far beefier than an eq6 and is also driven on both axis. A monster of a Telescope, and try to find another 8" + Refractor ! i will even consider a telescope as part payment against the final bid / sale price, just message me first with what you have. thanks for looking.
